Now a community of 22,000 people, Paso Robles, "Pass of the
Oaks" has a rich history that begins in 1857 when Daniel and James
Blackburn and Lazarus Godchaux purchased the Paso de Robles Land Grant.
Known as an important area for vineyards, almonds, ranches and fruit
orchards, Paso Robles has also become a major wine producing region.
